At ElectricRider we build lithium ion batteries to bring the ultimate power to your ebike, pedicab, scooter, and many other various projects requiring a lot of power in a small space. ElectricRider has designed and built batteries for several winning entries at the EcoShell Marathon, the Hyperloop project, and other similar competitions. Our battery experts have continue to design/build lithium batteries for railroad test equipment and several of Google's prototype robots. When dealing with high voltage, attention to very minute detail is required for safety and most importantly, to assure the best quality starting at each cell up to the finished lithium ion battery. Depending on the requirements of your application, we have two choices of chemistry; Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) and Lithium Manganese (LiMn). Both great chemistries, the vital trade-off is the size/weight vs. "cycle-life" or in ebike terms, the number of recharge cycles you will get out of the battery. All ElectricRider's lithium manganese and LiFePO4 battery packs come equipped with a Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors, protects, and balances each row of cells in the battery. The manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries at ElectricRider consist of balancing, two-part testing, building, and protecting each battery that we pride ourselves in providing the best quality possible!

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) Battery | Clydesdale Edition

ElectricRider is proud to announce the New and Improved Lithium Iron Phosphate Clydesdale Edition batteries; with the cutting-edge technology we are now able to provide more capacity in the same LiFePO4 battery, but minimize the space it utilizes to power your ebike, robot, or other project. In other words, you get all the advantages that our previous Clydesdale Edition batteries offered, but in a more compact area. Longevity is the key reason to use LiFePO4 batteries, so it is counter-productive to use too small of a battery for any job, we highly recommend using LiFePO4 Clydesdale Edition batteries for 36V and 48V ebike systems when weight is not a restriction.

Lithium Manganese (LiMn) Batteries - Very small and light weight

Lithium Manganese (LiMn) batteries have a focus on high energy density, packing as much energy into as small a space as possible. Lithium Manganese is about 50% smaller and lighter than LiFePO4, and now you can expect up to 1600 recharge cycles! So now our Lithium Manganese batteries are not only extremely small and light-weight, but they are also very cost effective which leaves very little one could as for! We always recommend lithium manganese chemistry for 72v systems, due to the size of the battery needed to power the system.

All lithium manganese cells used by ElectricRider to build batteries are manufacturer rated at 3C continuous and 5C max, meaning they can supply 3 times their amp hour rating in current continuously, or 5 times their amp hour rating in short bursts. For example, our 20AH Lithium Manganese batteries can supply 60a continuous and 100a max. This would power any system we offer, no problem. However, trying to use a 10ah LiMn battery for one of the 40a Phoenix systems would really be pushing the battery's limits, and would result in much fewer recharge cycles as would most lithium ion batteries for ebikes being sold, especially the cheap Chinese variety. This is something you should considering when factoring in the cost of a lithium battery. Having a reliable electric vehicle is all about using the right tools for the job.

Choose your Lithium ion Battery by selecting your Phoenix system from the options to narrow the selection to batteries that are screened based on your system requirements and battery capabilities. 24V Lithium batteries are typically used to power electric scooters, low-power e-bikes, and power chairs.

36V Batteries are used for more powerful electric scooters and e-bikes.

48V Lithium batteries power large inverters and fast e-bike systems.

72V Lithium batteries are used to power the fastest e-bike systems such as the Phoenix 7240. We make 72V batteries by putting two 36V batteries in series with a (supplied) jumper. Each battery has its own BMS and charger. This offers some redundancy and is less expensive than using a single 72V BMS and charger. The twin battery arrangement also gives you more options for placement of the batteries to maintain good weight balance and center of gravity.
